Notice on Airline Boarding Requirements for Certificates of Negative Nucleic Acid and Anti-Body Blood Tests Results (update on 2nd April,2021)
2020/11/02

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19, starting from 8th Nov 2020, all Chinese and foreign passengers who are to fly from Australia to China will be required to take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests within 2 days before boarding. Then passengers should apply for a green health code with the "HS" mark or "HDC" mark before boarding the flight. The specific requirements are as follows:

I. Test Requirements

Passengers going to China must take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests within 2 days before boarding. They must take the tests at qualified institutions certified by Australian government and then apply at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-Generals in Australia for a green health code or a certified health declaration code with certificates of negative results of both tests. For example, if the test is taken on 1st Dec, the flight to China should be no later than 3rd Dec.

II. Chinese Passengers Applying for the Green Health Code with the "HS" Mark

Chinese passengers must upload to the WeChat Health Code App photos of their negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results, which will then be examined and verified by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-Generals. Then they will get the green health code with the "HS" mark. Passengers must present the green "HS" code within its validity period to the airlines flying directly to China before boarding.

III. Foreign Passengers Applying for the Green Health Declaration Code with the "HDC" mark

Starting from 13th Nov, 2020, foreign passengers with certificates of negative results of both nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests shall apply for the green health declaration code by logging on the website of https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ via computer or smart phone. The Chinese Embassy or Consulate-Generals will then examine and verify the above information. Passengers must present the green "HDC" code within its validity period to the airlines flying directly to China before boarding.

IV. Important Reminder

Please read the requirements carefully and follow them accordingly. Failure to obtain the green health code with the "HS" mark or the health declaration code with "HDC" mark means you do not qualify for boarding the flight to China and will have to change your itinerary.

The Chinese Embassy or Consulate-Generals will not process the applications for the health code by passengers going to China via connecting flights at a third country.

Passengers flying to China who have received COVID-19 vaccination need to upload the vaccination certificates together with negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body test memo. The health codes or the certified health declaration codes will be issued after the verification and consideration of the submitted documents.
