Mr. Li Shugang, the Consul General of P.R.China in Perth, hosted a reception for Chinese and Australian entrepreneurs on August 24, 2009. Over 100 people attended the reception, which came from Chinese companies in WA and the members of Australia China Business Council (ACBC). The guests had a good communication. The reception intended to provide a communication platform for the industrial and commercial circles between China and Australia and aimed at enhancing mutual understanding, promoting relationship and improving the development and cooperation for both sides at the current uneasy bilateral relationship times. The Consul General Li Shugang gave a speech with enthusiasm at the reception. With regard to the current different voices on bilateral relationship,Mr. Li thought it was not uncommon that there were different voices and opinions due to different political systems and culture background between China and Australia. However, he believed that both sides could overcome any barriers and difficulties and promote relationship in a positive and healthy way if both kept improving the spirit of respect, understanding and tolerance, focusing on common interests while reserving individual opinions, paying attention to overall and long-term interests. The Consul General Li hoped that Chinese investment in Australia could receive more and positive support and cooperation from Federal and State governments of Australia and local companies. He also welcomed Australian companies investing in China. He hoped that the industrial and commercial circles of both sides could keep good relationship and work together to promote the long-term trade and economic cooperation between China and Australia. ![]() |
